The Drunken Thursdays are a band.
What kind of band?
Well that is a good question. They do almost all kinds of music so you can be sure there is something you like.
The band was formed in 1970 when John (lead guitarist) and Shaun (bass) met in maternity having just been born.
Influenced by each others cry's for food, they formed a strong and long friendship, which has lasted ages.
In late summer 2006, driven by total desperation, they were forced to take onboard a drummer, guitarist and singer, all of whom were short lived. Then one day driven to drink, the lads sat worrying into their pints about the future of the band; when the doors of the pub flew open, pretty white doves and a piercing bright light entered the pub. This is when Russ entered and changed their lives forever.
With his beautiful lyrics (which could be the words of the gods themselves) he turned the amazing and super duper catchy riffs into songs driven by this new optimism. John and Shaun began to play with such passion and power that the mountains themselves shuddered.
These new demigods of rock played with such passion and power that they wore out drummer after drummer, all this before they even managed to get a gig. But then, on a dark and stormy winters night, the guys were huddled together scared by the cracks of thunder they could hear, but were somewhat confused by the lack of lightning. So between them they decided to look out and find out what was happening. The night seemed clear and fine but for the menacing rumble of the sky. They called up their best friend Mikey and drove into the night in search of an answer to the mystery thunder.
When they came upon a house (eek). This house was the source of the thunder. They crept silently up to the window and carefully peered in. That's when they saw Ses, the mad drummer beating her pig skin with ferocious wrath. The boys looked at each other all thinking the same. This was it the band was born. After months of constant begging (and several court cases) Ses's will finally failed and she agreed to be in the band the Thursdays were born!
And their music will live forever...
